Description:

Teresa Davidson is a Nurse Practitioner and Chaplain that fights against human trafficking as the co-founder and CEO of Chains Interrupted, a nonprofit that contends for the freedom of youth from human trafficking and exploitation.

Teresa’s passion to fight Human Trafficking began on a mission trip to Africa where she saw children being victimized by this crime. Upon returning to the United States, she has worked with over 350 survivors, and actively trains professionals including law enforcement, health and human services, attorneys, judges, legislators, and those working with high-risk youth.

Teresa has received several awards for her work, including two Governor’s Services awards and was recently honored as a Woman of Influence in the Corridor area. She is honored to speak with you today and partner together to end this evil infiltrating our communities!

Description:

Dave Murguia is a Sergeant with the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office and has 19 years of law enforcement experience. He has conducted numerous online enticement and sexual exploitation investigations at both the state and federal levels. These investigations have led to the identification and prosecution of predators across Iowa, throughout the United States, and in several other countries.

Sergeant Murguia will be speaking about online predators targeting minors, whether they are at home or at school.

He will discuss key indicators of children being exploited online and provide insights to assist school faculty and school resource officers in identifying and intervening in such cases.

Benefits of having School Resource Officers trained in catching predators online.

Additionally, Sergeant Murguia will present case studies highlighting the apprehension of predators involved in enticement cases.
